AC Milan have been trying to convince teenage goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma to pen a new deal, but he has decided not to renew his contract and Real Madrid could sign him when his current contract expires in the summer of 2018.
The Italian club’s general manager Marco Fassone made the announcement after meeting with Mino Raiola, the player’s agent.
“Raiola has informed me of Donnarumma’s decision not to renew,” he stated.
“It is his final decision.
“We were sure that he was the goalkeeper for the new AC Milan, the pillar on which we would build, but now we must rethink our future.
“It is a decision which has been taken by the player, along with his representative, and we must push forward, even if it leaves us bitter.”
The Italian media expect that he’ll be making a move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but it’s only likely if he waits until the end of his current contract, given that Zinedine Zidane has already placed his trust in Keylor Navas for the 2017/18 season.
