Summer signing Henry Onyekuru could join Everton formally in January.
The Liverpool Echo says Onyekuru has increased speculation he could be back at Goodison in January to help provide much-needed extra firepower.
The 20-year-old joined the Blues from Eupen for a fee believed to be around £7 million this summer – but was sent on loan immediately to Anderlecht due to work permit issues.
Everton will try to use a “special talent” clause to acquire the work permit needed to bring Onyekuru back to the club in January, with the player having not featured in the required 75% of Nigeria’s national team fixtures over the last two years, reports 90minutesgoal.
And on Monday afternoon the player provided extra intrigue by sharing a video on his Instagram story which had him tagged in Liverpool city centre while in the passenger seat of a car.
