Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Portuguese striker Gonçalo Guedes has been loaned out to Spanish club Valencia CF on a season-long loan. The deal does not include an option to buy.
Guedes, 20, will spend the 2017-2018 season on loan with the Spanish club following a deal carved on Friday morning, just after the summer transfer window shut on Thursday evening.
The striker, under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2021, has made just eight appearances – totaling 148 minutes – since arriving from Benfica in January, and has opted to look elsewhere for the game time he needs.
Guedes was all set to join the Spanish club last week, but the wait for the officialisation of Kylian Mbappé’s transfer from Monaco held things up. Once that move was secured, Valencia sent a delegation of directors to Paris to seal the deal – which will see Valencia pay all of the player’s salary – on Friday morning
