James Maddison says it would be stupid for Leicester City not to target European football.

The Foxes are considered one of the teams capable of pushing the Premier League’s top-six clubs this season.

“I’m not going to lie, we want to break Europe,” Maddison said after a man-of-the-match display against Chelsea last weekend.

“If it was Troy Deeney from Watford or Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton I think they’d be saying the same thing, and I’d be stupid not to.

“If you look at the quality throughout our squad, we’ve got the attacking prowess and the defensive structure to go and really push that top six.

“It’s not an easy task – we should have won (against Chelsea) and we didn’t – but it’s one we’ll be working towards, definitely.”
