Besiktas JK 1-1 AS Monaco
Leonardo Jardim (Monaco coach): “I’m sad about the result but I’m satisfied and happy for the players who gave a good account of themselves and really tried to win the game. I’m happy because my team tried to control the game and tried to play aggressive football, both in attack and defence. The substitutions were designed to give us more in attack in order to win the game. I’m very happy with the players and I think the Monaco fans will be very happy with them, too.”
Rony Lopes (Monaco): “A draw isn’t bad but I think we deserved the win. I’ll believe we can qualify until it’s no longer possible. We still believe and we’ll give it everything. I was very happy to score my first Champions League goal but I’m not 100% satisfied because the team didn’t win.”
Andrea Raggi (Monaco): “This evening we deserved to win and we drew. We played very well but we conceded the goal and that’s football. We didn’t win but we proved we’re a strong team. Losing back-to-back home games was the problem, not what happened this evening.”
Şenol Güneş (Beşiktaş coach): “We still have the advantage, that’s the most important thing. It would have been nice to qualify with a win, but we would have got very upset if we had lost. Surely, we will want to win the Porto game, too.”
