Paris Saint-Germain starlet Kylian Mbappé has been named this year’s Golden Boy as the best player in Europe under the age of 21.
Mbappé, 18, will collect the award in a fitting location – Monaco – on Monday evening. The French international forward, also on the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or, burst to global prominence last season with 26 goals for Monaco in all competitions as they won the Ligue 1 Conforama title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Mbappé has already scored four times for PSG in all competitions and he easily saw off the competition to scoop the Golden Boy prize, racking up 291 votes. Fellow French international Ousmane Dembele (149) was beaten into second place.
