Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to wait another 12 months to sign Gareth Bale – though is open to an immediate deal for the Real Madrid star.
The Sunday Express says Zinedne Zidane is willing to sacrifice the 28 year-old who was hit by a series of injuries last season once Mbappe arrives in the Spanish capital.
United have backed Mourinho with over £100 million spent this summer Romelu Lukaku costing £75 million and Victor Lindelof £31 million.
He has been told that more money is available but they have refused to meet Inter Milan’s £48 million asking price for Ivan Perisic.
Premier League clubs now often think 12 months ahead in terms of their recruitment with a bid to bring Bale back to the Premier League earmarked for the summer of 2018.
But despite it likely to blow a massive hole in their budget Mourinho would move for Bale if he does come onto the market this summer.
