Manchester United’s chief transfer negotiator Matt Judge was spotted at Carrington yesterday.

The Mirror says United could be about to step up their efforts to land Sporting CP ace Bruno Fernandes after Judge’s appearance.

Judge – who is usually based in London – has a varied role at United and isn’t often involved in the day-to-day goings on at the club.

Fernandes’ agent Jorge Mendes was spotted in the stands at Old Trafford for Wednesday night’s FA Cup third round replay at home to Wolves, another club he has had several dealings with in the past.

Mendes has been based in England for a few days, and reportedly had a hand in Gedson Fernandes’ 18-month loan switch to Tottenham from Benfica, which was completed on Tuesday.
