Manchester United defender Daley Blind can’t hide his disappointment with the sacking of his father as Holland coach.
Blind admits he found himself in a difficult position when Dad, Danny Blind, was dismissed as national team boss.
“The resignation of my father also creates a different dimension,” he told De Telegraaf. “I’d rather not let it out. Perhaps it’s a good time to discuss it with my father. For now I want to avoid the questions.”
Nevertheless, Blind did touch on the issue.
“I think my father was wronged. But let me say so: you know that the national coaching job is a great job, but you get criticism if it does not work. He has not come in the ideal way (after the resignation of Guus Hiddink). That was not so planned.
“It was not due to the many injuries, but we did not play well either. Let’s be honest.”
