The Matthijs de Ligt saga continues to roll on – and Manchester United are preparing to return to Ajax and the centre back with a fresh deal.
It was thought that Juventus were certainties to secure the Dutchman’s services. However, Ajax have received fresh offers from both United and PSG, says the Manchester Evening News.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side could look to hijack De Ligt’s proposed move to Juventus as Ajax grow tired over the prolonged transfer negotiations.
De Ligt is keen on a move to Turin this summer, but Ajax could look to sell the Dutch defender elsewhere as talks continue to stall over a transfer fee.
The latest reports in Italy suggest De Ligt has already contacted new Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri to discuss his potential role in the side and it is suggested those talks were positive.
However, it is now believed United have been given fresh hope to sign the 19-year-old and that the club are considering their own approach to lure him to Old Trafford.
The bad news for United is the report also suggests Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are preparing new bids to sign the Ajax captain.
