Feyenoord prospect Ramon Hendriks admits choosing the Rotterdammers ahead of Liverpool as a junior.
Hendricks, at 15, was tied to Dordrecht and trialled with several major European clubs, including the Reds.
He recalled to Voetbalzone: “I was able to go to Ajax, to PSV, to Feyenoord, to Liverpool and a few other clubs. Very big names for a fifteen-year-old boy from Dordrecht, haha.” Hendriks decided to listen to the plans of all interested parties and knew in his heart that Feyenoord would be preferred over the other Dutch candidates.
“That club just suits me best as a person. It was very difficult to say ‘no’ to Liverpool. I thought about the adventure, but decided to choose a relatively surer path.”
This season Hendricks is on-loan with NAC Breda.
