British financier Amanda Staveley has stepped up takeover talks with Newcastle United.
The Newcastle Chronicle says Staveley, 44, has held constructive talks with Toon top brass.
Staveley is now set to sign an non-disclosure agreement with Newcastle United and bid for the club that was put up for public sale on Monday.
The financier is spearheading the PCP Capital Partners group from the Middle East who are said to have control of a £28 billion worth of funds.
It was reported earlier this year that Ashley would accept around £380-£400million for the club.
