Yaya Sanogo gave Toulouse a boost as they beat ten-man Troyes 1-0 to move out of the bottom two.

  Toulouse FC 1-0 ESTAC Troyes

Life under Mickaël Debève began with success for TFC as the team responded positively to Puscal Dupraz’s dismissal at the start of the week. Last defender Jimmy Giraudon was sent off for fouling Sanago as he was close to penetrating the area and that left Troyes with ten men for the remaining 87 minutes.

Eight minutes later, just after being denied by goalkeeper Erwin Zelazny, Sanogo put TFC in front as he finished off a Corentin Jean ball in, proving stronger than Gabriel when it came to the crunch.

Zelazny saved well from Sanago as the attacker attempted to add to the lead and on the stroke of half-time the same player could have done better with a header. In the second half combative midfielder Yannick Cahuzac twice went close to extending the TFC advantage.

Andy Delort came on for the goalscorer Sanogo eight minutes into the second half and the former Tigres man almost scored Toulouse’s second as they made it six top division games unbeaten against Troyes.

THE PLAYER: Yaya Sanogo

14 games into his TFC career, the former Arsenal forward, now 25, added a second Ligue 1 Conforama goal to that he managed for Auxerre in the 2011-2012 season.

This was TFC’s second win in 13 Ligue 1 Conforama matches (3D, 8L).
