West Ham have asked to take Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony on loan.

Slaven Bilic wants cover for Andre Ayew who is out for four months and 27-year-old Bony is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans at City.

The Ivory Coast international has several offers to consider including one from China but is interested in a move to the Olympic Stadium.

West Ham have also asked about signing Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus as an alternative after the Italy international stalled on a move to Wolfsburg. Bilic remains keen to add a right-back too and West Ham have held talks with Newcastle over a potential deal for Holland international Daryl Janmaat.

The 27-year-old was left out of Newcastle’s matchday squad that travelled to Bristol City yesterday.
